***Possible new client openings in August 2023-Wait list only***
If you hope to make changes or overcome obstacles in your life, I would be pleased to meet with you. I am a Licensed Psychologist with a doctoral degree and over 20 years of experience supporting my clients to meet their goals. I offer psychotherapy for adolescents (12 and up), adults and families.
My approach to therapy is strength-based, inclusive, and client-centered, using a wide range of therapeutic approaches including cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, skills training, interpersonal and family interventions. Within the framework of a safe, nonjudgmental, and private therapeutic relationship, I work collaboratively with you to develop a unique treatment plan, using effective strategies to help you to make progress, heal, achieve growth, and find fulfillment.
While trained as a generalist, my early training focused on family systems and cognitive-behavioral perspectives, which still aids me to view concerns within a larger system and to consider how relationships and the environment impact progress. My knowledge of neurobiology and attachment dynamics allows me to understand and explain internal factors that can be addressed to create change. As a psychologist, I have been trained to address many concerns and have a special interest in treating anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma, grief/loss, and depression.
I am a graduate of the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Training Institute. I specialize in the use of Exposure and Response/Ritual Prevention and cognitive behavioral therapy in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder and other anxiety disorders and have been trained with both adult and pediatric populations.
I am an EMDRIA (EMDR International Association) approved EMDR therapist. EMDR is a structured, well researched client centered therapy that has been proven to help with recovery from trauma. Ongoing research supports positive outcomes for the treatment of OCD, grief, anxiety, and other distressing life experiences. Please see the EMDRIA website for information about EMDR.
I also hold certifications as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and as a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.
