If one thing is certain, it’s that each of us struggles in life. There are times when we need support to gain perspective and make changes in order to find happiness and a sense of meaning in our lives.
I help men, women, adolescents and children work through a variety of issues such as life transitions, anxiety and depression, stress management, intimacy and relationships, sexuality, history of trauma, increasing assertiveness and finding purpose. As a clinical psychologist, my training is founded in science and evidence-based treatment. Yet, ultimately my goal is help you strive for wholeness: self-acceptance and confidence that will allow you to be more resilient, successful and satisfied in relationships with others and with the world we live in.
My treatment philosophy and approach draws on relational and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) orientation and techniques, mindfulness-based therapy, as well as an understanding of how our brains respond to stress and trauma. I work with my clients collaboratively to identify their own goals and to develop skills for managing the difficulties interfering in their happiness. Through a trusting and confidential therapeutic relationship, I help you to identify and let go of old fears, beliefs, patterns and expectations that may be standing in the way of your ability to enjoy life.
In a therapy session, you can expect that I will listen actively to what you have to say and ask questions to help us gain insight into your situation. My training and experience allow me to really hear the truth of what is underlying your difficulties. It is important to me that at the end of our session, you will have felt understood and supported.
